While working on this, I kept remembering that conversation from Kino's Journey, about the true blue sky... ^_^

Completed YCH for Yoshifinder and Lyndane
I'm quite proud of this piece, both as my first YCH, and because this one feels like another step forward, with painting. I'm rather happy with how this turned out. I hope all of you enjoy it, as well.

I'll probably do ych pieces like this, from time to time. This one was a really good experience.

I was looking to do a little background practice, and started on a photo study, but I forgot to bring the picture with, after starting out with the initial sketch. So I tried to put a bit of my own spin on it, too.

This was a bit of an experiment with some textured brushes, too. I don't often post practice pieces like this, but I feel especially proud of this one, and think it was a great learning experience.

The photo that this study was based on was taken by Chris Ford, here:

Just a happy, shiny dragon, soaking up some rays.
I've wanted to try drawing a specifically golden dragon for a while, now. In a chat, someone joked around about dragons being solar powered, so I had to draw one, relaxing in the sun. ^_^

I tried to use some of the techniques I was experimenting with, in that last study, as well.
Hopefully, all of you enjoy it, too.

This is another practice landscape. It was originally inspired by a photo taken by Kedan, but it has deviated from that quite a bit, so I can't consider it to be a photo study. I had a lot o fun with this one, and while it was intended to be a quick piece, I'm glad I spent longer on it. Playing with the warm and cool green shades was really fun, as well.

Ideally, I want to be able to intentionally convey more story and setting with the landscapes and background in my pieces, and improve my painting technique... This feels like another step in the right direction.

Azusis and Azril out for a camping trip, for @azusiscielura
This was a faster piece, but I'm really proud of the detail level and scene, on this one.

Fall pieces and colors are so much fun to work with.

Time for some more Monster Hunter fanart!
So, here is a freshly molted Kushala Daora, all shiny and ready to start the new year, too.
This piece was a challenging one for me, but I had a lot of fun with it, too. I hope you enjoy it, as well. ^_^

This piece is a bit of an experiment. I tried a few different things with the process on this piece, and I'm rather proud of how this piece turned out. ^_^

Dragon rider scenes like this are always so fun and relaxing to work on.
I hope you enjoy this one, as well.

I've been watching Season 2 of Overlord.
So here's Zaryusu Shasha, and Crusch Lulu. I ship the lizards. <3
I thought of a nice, romantic scene, so I just had to draw it.

Hopefully, you enjoy this scene, as well.

I've been working on this piece on and off for the last month or so... When I posted my thank you for 4k journal on Furaffinity, I thought about what I could do... and came up with the idea that a 4k resolution wallpaper would be perfect.
So I started on this piece.

I've been really enjoying the idea for this scene, so I put in some extra effort, in an attempt to make this my new best, and I'm really proud of how it turned out.
Enjoy, and thank you! ^_^

I think I'm going to try being active on artfight.net/ this year. ^_^

A few friends were talking to me about uploading this quick flat piece I made, for reference here, too.
It's a simple thing, and not a painting, but I think it shows some progress in my poses and anatomy. The wings were a fun part, on this piece.

I'm looking forward to more growth and adventures with art, in the future. ^_^

A scene featuring  Draca44 and  Larynkir
As a Barioth and Nargacuga.

I'm trying to push the lighting and depth of the scene a little farther with this one, and I'm rather happy with the result. ^_^
Enjoy. ^_^

A practice Smaugust speedpaint that I think turned out rather nicely.
Timed at 1 hour, 16 min. I put a little extra time into polishing it up a bit more.

For Pentalis, featuring Nessic.

They were looking for something rather close in idea and design to the sketch, so I refined a lot of details, but didn't change them much. I'm really proud with how this turned out, and things like a bit of criticism and feedback from friends was a key part of the process.
Thank you very much. ^_^

It's a secret santa speedpaint that I've been waiting to post. ^_^
I'm really happy with the feeling of the blues and whites in this piece. Also, I tried a few experiments with detailing this one, and I think they worked out nicely.

This mask won Best Amateur Piece and I am SO PROUD. :D
---

This is one of the projects I've been working on recently.

A few months ago, I saw a really neat leather dragon mask online, made by Zarathus. I thought it was cool, so I decided to try making something myself.
It's been quite some time since I made my Guilmon costume, so it felt really good to make something physical again. This was my first time trying anything like this, and my first time working with leather, so I had to study up a bit.

The majority of the mask was made with leather, but I also have some mesh, to line the eye sockets, craft foam, and plastic horns. The teeth are made with apoxy, so they are a hard resin and feel very tooth like. The jaw is articulated and easy to move, and the eyes have LEDs for lighting, as well. It is breathable enough that I can wear it for quite a while without fatigue setting in. Overall, I had fun working with all kinds of new materials.
It wasn't an easy process, though. Despite planning and making a test run out of craft foam, I had to re-do major portions of the mask a few times. This took much longer and used much more leather than it would have, if I knew what I was doing from the start, but I'm really proud of my final result. :)

It was a really fun project, and it had some great reactions at the Renaissance Festival this year. I'll probably wear it around at cons sometimes, too.
