This is one of the Location card illustrations I made for the new Nordguard set.
It'll be on sale at www.sofawolf.com/products/n...… after the con!

I'm not going to upload all the art that I contributed from the set, but I will be uploading a few pieces. I'm quite proud of many of them, so I want to post them on here. :)

One more upload from Nordguard, for now.
I actually drew many more cards than the ones I've posted, but I think posting a few might be better than uploading them all. ;)

I'm rather pleased with how the explosions turned out in this one, and it was a lot of fun to draw, too.

Nargacuga Head

This is the finished Nargacuga head that I've been working on. It's been a while since I made that Guilmon, so I've been feeling the need to make another costume for cons...
The Nargacuga has my favorite design of all the creatures in Monster Hunter, although the Dire Miralis, Lagiacrus, and Najarala are up there, too. There are actually a lot of designs that I like in those games. Hopefully, the Narga will be back in MH Cross...

Anyway, I'm going to keep building Nargacuga pieces, until I have a full costume. :D
It has LED eyes, for rage mode, an articulated jaw, to bite all those pesky hunters, and Nekomimi ears, for maximum adorableness.

Costume status:
Head: Done!
Wings: ~30%
Body: 0%
Feet:~20%
Tail: Done!

The Nargacuga itself, and the icon come from Monster Hunter, by Capcom.

3D Ball Jointed Pony Print: Alicorn

This is the printed version of the ball jointed pony that I've been working on modeling. It is quite poseable, and has 25 points of articulation, with a total of 33 parts. I made Unicorn, Pegasus, and Earth Pony versions, as well, but the Alicorn was the most useful one to print, to test both the fitting of both the wings and horn. Perhaps, one of these days, I'll paint it, and design some alternate pieces, like different styles of manes and tails. I went with a short, generic mane on this one, because my main goal was to make all the joints work. :)

I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. I've even thought of making a bunch of these, setting up a con booth, and painting ponies for people. :)
I might make the model available on Shapeways, for other people to purchase and assemble, too.

One of the things I'm currently working on is a poseable ball jointed dragon. Since I am new to 3d modeling and printing, I thought I'd try to learn the process, with a much simpler Pony. The dragon model will be more challenging...

My Little Pony is © Hasbro, of course. :)

Blue Feathered Dragon

I made another mask!
This was actually finished a month or two ago, but I just got around to taking pictures of it now.
Since this is complete now, I'm going to try to sell my red dragon mask in the art auction at Midwest Furfest, this weekend.

I picked up some alligator print embossed leather a while back, when I saw it on sale, and I'm rather pleased with the texture that it gives this head. It uses the same curled style of horns as others I've made, but I think the proportions and structure are better than before, there is more airflow between the scales, and the feathered mane is breathable. I've also been experimenting with using a headband internally, to make the fitting more adjustable. All this makes this one rather comfortable to wear. Blue is a nice color, too.
Next time I decide to put together something like this I'll have to try a different style of horns. And, maybe try something interesting, like blinking eyes, or a glowing mane. The challenge is part of the fun. :)

I've also been working on another exciting digital art project, too. So, Yes. I am still alive, and making art.
Crafty distractions like this are nice every now and then, though.

Anyone remember Dinotopia?

I've been working on some more digital art again, and Dinotopia is a setting that I always have a soft spot for, so I thought I'd make some fanart of a Skybax. :)
Buildings, and settings like this are difficult for me, so this one gave me some good practice, I think. I tried to include all sorts of details from the setting, too.

Enjoy! :)
Comments and criticism are always appreciated.

Woo! Dragon! It's been too long. :)

I've been thinking of starting on a set of elemental dragons... And, I mean scientific elements, not the classical ones.
This one is the concept associated with Hydrogen. It's the most common visible element in the universe, primary fuel source for stars, and the main component of nebulae.
The nebula wings were my favorite detail to work with on this one. I thought of adding more spikes and other detail, as well as the MSDS data sheet, but I think there's a value in keeping some things simple, too.

Helium is also quite common, but that may be something for another time. ;)

I'll probably jump around, and start with some of the most interesting elements, instead of go in order. I think this project might be a good source of inspiration and good practice using information to develop the characters and scenes. :)
Downloadable in 5K resolution. Enjoy!

Nargacuga Sticker Sheet

I've been enjoying Telegram recently, and I've seen some rather fun sticker sets. So, I decided to make one based on a Nargacuga, from Monster Hunter.
I might do another, more dragon-y one, and maybe some templates, some time.

This one was tough because most of the expressions I draw can be approximated with "awesome" or "dragon".
Out of these, the fluffy one was probably my favorite to make.
The anime references in #2, and #11 were fun, too. ;)

If anyone else wants to use them, you can add them here: telegram.me/addstickers/Narga
This was a rather fun exercise.

Finished more art! Enjoy!

This one is sort of an earthy counterpoint to my previous picture, and I've been considering using it for Silicon, but even quartz is SiO2, so it contains more Oxygen than Silicon. Silicon is the second most abundant element on Earth, right behind Oxygen. Maybe this should actually be the elemental dragon for Oxygen, then... ;)
I'll have to think about that.

Anyway, I tried a new experiment with painting over some of my line art on this piece. I'm rather pleased with the end result. I really want to practice more, and push my art farther. I'll probably make some more speedpaints soon, to experiment and help refine my methods.
Comments and criticism are always welcome.

Finally done with another piece of art.
I made the sketch for this one last year, but couldn't seem to finish it. The perspective is extremely challenging... I liked the idea a lot, though, so I saved the sketch, and finished it up. It feels like a personal triumph to complete it, and hopefully shows a bit of progress, too.

Now, I'm looking forward to trying a few exercises that I've been planning, for a while.
Enjoy the art!

Comments and criticism are welcome, as always.

The composition and setting were nice to work with, as well, and I'm quite happy with the result.

I've been making plenty of sketches lately, trying to improve with my composition and speed. Overall, I'm feeling back on track with my art. I'm really hoping that I'll be able to step it up in this next year and catch up to some of the artists that I admire.

More art! Woo!

This one started as a little speedpaint sketch, but I really enjoyed the idea and colors, so I decided to spend more time on it, and I'm glad I did. I've been realizing that I can take my sketches farther, and improving my sketches will lead to an improvement in the concept and composition of my finished pieces. Hopefully, this one reflects that. Overall, this piece was fun and relaxing to work on, and feels like a nice accomplishment, now that it's complete.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. :D

Another piece for Malikeet featuring him and Wrayette. Finished at just the right time, too!

Malikeet and Wrayette enjoying a movie. Sometimes things are a little different behind the scenes. :) The two on the screen weren't initially going to be them, but a great comment by Thallori changed that.
I think that change makes the piece much more fun and interesting.

The idea and setting in this piece were a lot of fun to work with, and that theater was a new kind of challenge... Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the quality and speed of this piece.
I don't think I could have done that, last year. ^_^

Breaking the frames made the composition rather fun, on this piece, plus, I don't often try re-drawing the same character or from a description, so this was good practice, as well. The neck and expression are the parts that I most enjoyed drawing. I added a little shading, but tried to use more flat color, since this is a ref sheet.

Comments and criticism are totally welcome on this, too. Since this is something that I might try again, I'd definitely enjoy hearing what I could improve on, as I practice. ^_^

Maybe I'll put together a reference sheet of this character sometime, too. It's exciting to finally have one.

This is another practice landscape. It was originally inspired by a photo taken by Kedan, but it has deviated from that quite a bit, so I can't consider it to be a photo study. I had a lot o fun with this one, and while it was intended to be a quick piece, I'm glad I spent longer on it. Playing with the warm and cool green shades was really fun, as well.

Ideally, I want to be able to intentionally convey more story and setting with the landscapes and background in my pieces, and improve my painting technique... This feels like another step in the right direction.
